Has anyone genuinely recovered after a core update hammered them?
Q: Lost 60 percent of traffic to a core update. Is recovery even real?
A: Short answer: yes, but it took two updates. Longer answer: a personal-finance blog I consulted on dropped 58 percent overnight. The fix wasn't "more content" — it was adding a real, named author with a photo, credentials and a LinkedIn link to 90 money articles that had been ghost-written under "Staff." They also cut 70 thin definition-style posts down to 22 deep guides. No recovery on the next update. But the following core update (about 4 months later) brought back roughly 80 percent of lost traffic. Google revalidates trust on its own schedule, not yours. Patience plus genuine authorship signals did it.
