Define the milestones and the automatic response:
☐ First post → a staff reply within the hour, every time
☐ 30 days active → a public welcome to "the regulars"
☐ First time they help someone → name it publicly, on the spot
☐ 90 days → invite to a deeper room or the ambassador ladder
☐ One year → a personal thank-you with something only long-timers get
The trigger is the milestone, not your mood. Track each member's dates so nothing slips.
Why it works: people repeat behaviors that get noticed. Recognized contributors become your most reliable engine. Unrecognized ones quietly stop.
The metric: percent of milestones acknowledged within 24 hours. Aim for 100 — a missed one stings more than no system at all.
