"Thought leadership" is mostly opinion laundering
Everyone says: "Post bold takes to build your personal brand and become a thought leader."
The claim: hot opinions equal authority.
What's actually true: a contrarian take with no evidence behind it builds a reputation for noise, not authority — and the feed is now saturated with manufactured hot takes that all sound identical. What actually compounds into trust is published, checkable work: the experiment you ran, the number you moved, the thing you got wrong and corrected. Authority is a track record people can verify, not a posting voice. Opinions are cheap; receipts aren't.
It's not the bold take. It's that you have nothing to back it up.
