Long thoughtful comments are not a reach hack for the commenter
Everyone says: "Leave long, valuable comments on big accounts and their audience flows to you."
The claim: comment-marketing converts other people's reach into yours.
What's actually true: there's a kernel here — a genuinely sharp comment on a relevant post can earn profile clicks. But the "essay in every comment section" tactic mostly burns hours for a trickle, because LinkedIn shows your comment to a fraction of that post's viewers and almost nobody clicks a commenter's name. The accounts that grew this way did it on ten surgically-chosen posts a week in their exact niche, not fifty drive-by paragraphs.
It's not the comment length. It's that you commented on the wrong fifty posts.
