Why a competitor's weaker page outranks yours
Everyone blames external links. Often the answer is internal plumbing.
Pull a rival's strongest pages by referring domains, then map where their internal links point. The smart operators funnel authority from their link-magnet content (a free tool, a stats roundup) straight into thin commercial pages via in-content links.
— Their money page may have near-zero external links but inherits authority from a hub that earned hundreds.
— Tell: a commercial URL ranking far above its own backlink count almost always has a heavily-linked internal parent feeding it.
Multiple profiles show this — the external graph looks unimpressive until you trace the internal flow.
Auditing only external links misses half the picture. Map the internal authority routing too.
