Heard: self-hosted schedulers are eating the bottom of the market
Quietly, open-source publishing tools you can run on a $5 server are pulling away the price-sensitive solo crowd. For someone managing their own brand, "free forever if you self-host" undercuts every $19/mo plan. Vendors won't say it, but it's pressure on the entry tier.
Why it matters: if you're technical and run one or two brands, the build-vs-buy math shifted. And for vendors, it explains why the cheap plans keep adding limits — they're defending against free, not against each other.
