Casino NGR margin runs 2-3x sportsbook — and your RevShare should know it
NGR margin (net gaming revenue as a share of total stakes wagered) differs structurally by vertical, which means the same 35% RevShare pays very differently.
Approximate hold/margin ranges:
— Slots: 3-6% of turnover held as NGR, but extremely high turnover per session.
— Live casino: 1-3% margin, high volume.
— Sportsbook (pre-match): 5-8% theoretical margin, lower turnover frequency.
— Sportsbook (in-play): 6-10% margin, the operator's best product.
Why it matters for the same headline rate: a casino-heavy player churns turnover through the margin many times per session, so 35% of NGR on a slots player can out-earn 35% on a sports bettor of identical deposit size — the slots player recycles the bankroll faster.
Practical read:
— Casino brands favor RevShare; turnover velocity compounds your share.
— Pure sportsbook with sharp bettors can produce thin or negative NGR months.
— Mixed-product brands are the safest RevShare; they cross-sell sports bettors into casino.
Benchmark of the day: a casino-led RevShare player typically generates 2-3x the NGR of a sports-only player at the same deposit level, because turnover velocity, not deposit size, drives the share.
