As short-form ate the feed, scheduling tools rushed to add video editing — captions, trimming, repurposing one clip into nine. Most of it is a thin wrapper over a third-party editing API they're reselling. The pivot is real; the depth often isn't.
Why it matters: a scheduler's bolted-on editor rarely beats a dedicated one, but it kills the export-import-reupload tax. If your tool just "added video," test whether it's native rendering or a rebranded API — the difference shows up in render times and watermark control.
