The real disavow risk is over-disavowing, not under-disavowing
The myth: when in doubt, disavow it — better safe than sorry.
Reality: disavow is a chainsaw. Add
domain:example.com
and you discard every link from that domain forever, including ones that might be helping. People routinely disavow legit niche sites, guest posts, and editorial mentions because a tool painted them red.
Actually, there's no "undo" feedback loop. You won't see a ranking drop and connect it to the good link you nuked three months ago.
"Better safe than sorry" is backwards. The reversible mistake is leaving an ignored link alone. The quiet, invisible mistake is killing a real one.
Reality check: the disavow file deletes signal. Make sure there's signal worth keeping out first.
