Follower count is the most lied-about number on the platform
Everyone says: "Hit 10k followers and the reach compounds."
The claim: a bigger audience mechanically means bigger distribution.
What's actually true: LinkedIn only shows your post to a sliver of followers first, then expands based on early engagement rate — so a 2k account with a tight, responsive audience routinely out-reaches a 30k account full of dead connections and pod-bait followers. Reach is gated by engagement-per-impression, not headcount. Chasing follower count via giveaways and follow-trains actively lowers your ratio, which lowers reach. The number you brag about is sabotaging the number that matters.
It's not how many. It's how many care.
