Old guide, new traffic: rewrite it for search and AI answers

An old article can still win if you stop treating it like a fresh draft and start treating it like a source page. Search engines and AI answers both prefer pages that are clear, complete, and easy to quote.

Rewrite the opening so it says exactly who the guide is for, what problem it solves, and what the reader will learn. Then add:
• one short definition near the top
• a tight step-by-step section
• one comparison table or bullet list
• a short “mistakes to avoid” block

Keep each section answerable in one clean paragraph. Use simple headings that match real questions, and put the main term in the first 100 words. If the guide covers multiple angles, split them into separate subheads instead of one long wall of text.

For AI answers, make key facts easy to lift: short sentences, direct language, and no hidden context. For search rankings, trim fluff, remove repeated points, and add examples where the topic feels abstract. Update internal links so the page sits next to your best supporting content.

The best rewrite is not longer. It is more structured, easier to scan, and harder to misunderstand.
