Q: A partner is disputing their payout. How do I work through it?
Disputes are normal; handling them badly is what loses partners. Run a fixed process so it stays factual:
— Pull the data before you reply. Their conversions, reversals, and the exact terms that apply. Never respond from memory.
— Find where your number and theirs diverge. Usually it's a reversal they didn't see or a sale outside the cookie window.
— Reply with the breakdown, not just a total: here's gross, here's what reversed and why, here's net. Show the math.
— If you were wrong, fix it fast and say so. A quick correction earns more trust than a grudging one.
— Log the cause so the same confusion doesn't recur across your base.
The caveat: don't win the argument and lose the partner over small money. If it's a genuine gray area and the amount is minor, paying it and clarifying the term for next time is cheaper than the churn and the public complaint. Save the hard line for clear fraud.
