<b>CBO: when to hand TikTok the wallet</b>

CBO = Campaign Budget Optimization, meaning you set one budget at the campaign level and TikTok spreads it across your ad groups for you.

The opposite is ABO (Ad group Budget Optimization), where <i>you</i> give each ad group its own budget.

Which when? Let's keep it simple.
— Testing brand-new audiences or creatives? Use ABO. You want each one to get a fair, equal chance, and CBO will starve the slow starters.
— Scaling proven winners? Use CBO. Now you <i>want</i> TikTok pushing money toward whatever's working.

A common mistake: turning on CBO during testing, then one ad group eats everything and you learn nothing about the rest.

Try this: keep your next test in ABO with equal budgets per ad group. Move to CBO only after a clear winner appears. Don't worry if this feels backwards — most people learn it the hard way.
