Google Business Profile posts are not a ranking lever by themselves. Use them to answer the intent behind the search: job photos, before/after shots, seasonal offers, and service proof. Keep the text short, local, and specific to one service. If you post three generic updates a week, you are feeding noise, not relevance.
Photos matter more than most owners think. Strong images can improve clicks, calls, and direction requests, which is the kind of engagement that supports the listing. Use real crew shots, trucks with branding, completed work, and clean close-ups of the problem and solution. Avoid stock images, filters, and the same photo reused across every post.
A simple workflow works best:
• one post for one service
• one clear image with the right job context
• one call to action, like call, quote, or book
• one note that matches the zip code or service area
Do not treat posts as a content calendar exercise. Treat them as proof that you are active, local, and doing the work you claim to do.
If you want the map pack to move, optimize for trust signals first, then use posts and photos to make that trust visible.
