Myth: "Clickstream-corrected volume is the accurate one, trust it"
Vendors brag about clickstream data like it ends the debate. I compared Ahrefs, Semrush and a clickstream-heavy tool on 50 terms.
They still disagreed 30-50%, because clickstream is a sample extrapolated to the world.
Clickstream-blended volume:
➕ Better at catching real demand vs Planner's ad-buyer bias
➖ Sample skews by country and panel makeup, small niches get noisy
Google-sourced volume:
➕ Straight from the source
➖ Ad-intent biased, bucketed
Best for: judging relative demand between terms, any of them works. Treating one number as 'the' truth, none of them is.
Price-vs-value: don't pay a premium for 'most accurate volume', it's marketing over a sampling method. Use one tool consistently and compare within it.
Neutral, no links.
Pick one volume source and stay consistent. Skip tool-hopping for a 'true' number that doesn't exist.
