Popular belief: "If they didn't reply, they're not interested."
Myth. Most non-replies aren't rejections — they're decisions deferred. The message landed during a bad hour, asked for a meeting before earning one, or required thought the reader didn't have the bandwidth for. Interest was never tested; effort was.
It's not that they said no, it's that you made replying expensive. Lower the cost of the yes — a one-tap question, a binary choice — and silence turns into signal.
