What a "staging site" is (and why pros use one)
A staging site is a private copy of your website that only you can see. Think of it as a kitchen test-batch before you serve the real meal.
Why it matters: you can try a new theme, update a plugin, or edit code without anyone visiting your live site noticing if it breaks.
How to do it:
— Open your hosting dashboard (the control panel where you manage your site)
— Look for a button labeled "Staging" or "Create staging"
— Click it, make your changes on the copy, and check everything works
— When happy, click "Push to live" to copy it over
Many good hosts include this free. Don't worry, your visitors never see the messy testing.
In plain words: a staging site is a safe sandbox copy where you experiment before touching the real thing.
