Q: "Shoppable videos need a hard 'BUY NOW' push or nobody clicks, right?"
A: The opposite is usually true. On TikTok and Reels, overt hard-sell language gets throttled in reach and reads as an ad, so people scroll past before the tag ever loads. Native, demonstrative content converts better because viewers self-qualify.
What works on shoppable video:
— Show the product solving a real problem in the first 3 seconds
— Let the tag and pinned comment carry the call to action, not shouting
— One soft verbal nudge max ("it's tagged if you want it")
The click happens because they're convinced, not commanded.
Also worth knowing: aggressive on-screen "BUY" stickers can also lower watch time, which then shrinks the audience that ever sees your tag.
