<b>Q: How do I actually stop my own team's visits from polluting GA4?</b>
A: It's a two-part job, and most people only do one half.
— First define the traffic: Admin → Data Streams → your stream → Configure tag settings → Show all → Define internal traffic. Add your office/VPN IPs; this stamps events with traffic_type=internal.
— Then filter it: Admin → Data Settings → Data Filters → Internal Traffic. Set state to <b>Active</b> (Testing only previews it).
Dynamic IPs? Use a browser extension that blocks the GA tag instead, since IP rules won't hold.
TL;DR: Define internal traffic by IP, then set the Data Filter to Active. Doing only one does nothing.
