<b>"NVMe SSD storage" is a sticker, not a guarantee of speed</b>
They told you: <i>"NVMe drives mean my site will be blazing fast."</i>
Fast disks help — until 3,000 accounts hammer the same drive and your I/O gets throttled by a per-account cap you never saw. The bottleneck on shared hosting is almost never raw storage; it's contention, slow query plans, and process limits. NVMe on the box doesn't mean NVMe speed for <i>your</i> account.
Follow the money: hardware acronyms are cheap to print on a feature grid and impossible for a buyer to verify. The throttle that actually governs you stays in the fine print.
Reality: A fast drive shared by a mob is a slow drive with a good label.
