<b>Backups are "included" — restoring them is $150</b>
They told you: <i>"Daily backups included, so I'm safe."</i>
Included means they take them. It rarely means you control them. Plenty of hosts back up your site, then charge a "restore fee" — sometimes $100–$200 — to actually give it back when you're down and desperate. The leverage is the point: you'll pay anything mid-outage.
Follow the money: a backup you can self-restore in one click earns them nothing. A backup held behind a support gate is a monetizable emergency.
Keep your own off-site copy. Always.
Reality: A backup you can't restore yourself is their asset, not your insurance.
