A fast check should answer one question: is this site worth a personalized email? Review the page, audience, and likely fit before opening your template.
1. Relevance: does it cover your topic or serve the same audience? 2. Activity: are the articles useful, readable, and internally linked? 3. Editorial fit: can you offer a contribution or legitimate mention? 4. Contact path: is there an editor, contact page, or author byline?
Scan for disqualifiers: unrelated sponsored posts, thin content, broken navigation, obvious link-selling menus, or a heavily mixed topic profile. One weak signal is fine; several usually mean poor reply quality.
Use three labels: A means strong relevance and a clear angle; B means relevant but needs research; C means poor fit or high spam risk. Personalize A prospects first, test B prospects in batches, and archive C prospects.
A strict 60-second filter protects your sending capacity and leaves more time for prospects that can actually answer.
