Failure mode: pitching blind without Wayback context
Mistake: you know the URL is dead but not what it contained. Your pitch says "I noticed a broken link" with no idea if your resource fits. Generic, ignorable.
Fix step-gate:
— 1. For every queued dead URL, pull the most recent live snapshot from web.archive.org.
— 2. Extract: title, H1, content type, top 3 subheadings, approximate length.
— 3. Log to a context column beside the URL.
— 4. Draft outreach referencing the actual former content ("your guide on X").
— 5. QA gate: no pitch approved with an empty Wayback-context column.
Automation: Wayback CDX API + a script to grab the latest 200-snapshot HTML.
Definition of done: every outreach line cites the specific dead content, not "a broken link."
