Myth: "More plugins always slow your site down"
You'll hear this everywhere: "Keep your plugin count under 10 or your site crawls." It's not the number that matters. It's the quality.
A plugin is an add-on that gives WordPress new powers. One badly built plugin that loads heavy files on every page can hurt you more than fifteen lightweight ones that only run where needed.
Think of it like passengers in a car. Ten light passengers are fine. One that brings a piano slows everyone down.
How to judge a plugin:
— Check when it was last updated (under 6 months ago is healthy)
— Read the 1-star reviews, not just the 5-star ones
— Avoid plugins that do ten unrelated things at once
In plain words: don't count your plugins, weigh them.
