Playbook: switching Threads schedulers with zero missed posts
Tested a full Publer-to-Metricool cutover on a real account for 10 days. The overlap window is everything.
— Connect the new tool while the old one still runs. Two connections coexist fine on the Threads API.
— Rebuild the next 3 days of posts in the new tool. Don't import the whole queue yet.
— During the overlap, schedule each post in ONE tool only. Track which in a sheet to avoid duplicates firing.
— Watch 3 real publishes from the new tool before trusting it. Confirm media, links, and timing all land.
— Only then pause the old tool's channel (don't delete for a week, in case you roll back).
The standout is that API-based tools allow this dual-connection overlap cleanly. Annoying limit: neither tool warns you about a duplicate scheduled at the same time, so the manual sheet is non-negotiable.
Verdict: Worth it done slowly; Skip the rip-and-replace approach.
