Checklist: scheduling a Threads image carousel that actually posts
Tested carousel scheduling across three tools on a real account for 9 days. Half failed silently at publish.
— Confirm the tool supports multi-image via the API, not just single images. Many claim "media" but mean one file.
— Keep it to 10 images max and under 8MB each. Oversized files fail with no error in most dashboards.
— Match aspect ratios across the set. Mixed ratios get auto-cropped ugly in the feed.
— Upload from a stable URL or direct file, not a Google Drive share link. Those expire and break the scheduled post.
— Check the published result on mobile, not the desktop preview. Desktop hides Threads' crop.
Metricool and Publer passed; the standout is a true media preview before send. Around 12-22 USD/mo. Annoying limit: no tool lets you reorder carousel images after upload, so get the order right first.
Verdict: Worth it on Metricool/Publer; Skip lighter tools for carousels.
