If an AI system cannot pull a clean answer from your page, it will skip you and use a page that is easier to parse. Build for extraction, not decoration.
• Put the core answer near the top, in plain language.
• Use one topic per page, with tight headings that match the question.
• Keep key facts in short paragraphs and simple lists.
• Name entities clearly: brand, product, location, tool, author.
• Add definitions before nuance; AI systems like direct answers first.
Attribution gets easier when the source looks trustworthy and specific. That means visible bylines, consistent brand name, a clear about page, and internal links that show the page belongs to a real site. If the content is original, say it in the wording and support it with examples, screenshots, or data points that are easy to lift without guessing.
Avoid layouts that hide the answer behind tabs, scripts, or long intro copy. Avoid vague headings, mixed topics, and paragraph walls. If a human has to hunt for the main point, an AI parser usually will too.
The best test is simple: strip the page to text and ask whether the answer still reads cleanly. If not, rewrite until the page can be quoted in one pass.
