"Emojis in title tags boost CTR."
Maybe.
An e-commerce client added a green checkmark to 340 product titles and left a control group of 340 untouched. After six weeks: the emoji group's average click-through rate moved from 2.1% to 2.18%. The control moved from 2.1% to 2.16%. That's noise, not a win.
Here's what actually happened. Google stripped the emoji from rendering on 71% of the impressions anyway (we checked the live SERP screenshots). On mobile it showed roughly half the time. The pages where it did render and CTR rose? They were already position 3-5 — where a tiny visual nudge matters most.
So the honest takeaway: emojis don't lift CTR site-wide. They occasionally help a specific position band, sometimes, when Google feels like showing them. (Which it controls, not you.) Test on your own SERPs before you decorate 5,000 titles.
