"Fix your heading hierarchy for SEO."
For accessibility, sure. For rankings, calm down.
But since people insist, here's the actual fix order, highest-value first:
— One H1. Not zero, not three. This is the only rule with teeth, and mostly for screen readers and your own sanity.
— Make H2s describe sub-questions a reader actually asks, not keyword variants. "How long does it take" beats "Title Tag Length Best Practices."
— Don't skip from H2 to H4 to look tidy in a CMS. It breaks the document outline; just don't.
— Stop bolding text and calling it a heading. <strong> is not <h2>. The outline doesn't see it.
— Ignore "put your keyword in every H2." That study you keep quoting correlated headings with rankings because good content has good headings, not the other way round.
Do the first three. Skip the panic. A messy outline never tanked a page that answered the question.
