Q: My explorations only go back 2 months — how do I fix the retention window?
A: New properties default user-data retention to 2 months. Bump it:
— Admin → Data Settings → Data Retention.
— Change 'Event data retention' from 2 months to 14 months (the max for the free tier).
— Toggle 'Reset user data on new activity' on so active users keep their window.
— Note: this only affects exploration-level (user/event) data — standard aggregated reports go back further regardless.
TL;DR: Set Data Retention to 14 months under Data Settings; it applies going forward, not retroactively, so do it on day one.
