Third-party indexers: do the paid ones actually work?
I threw 500 stubborn URLs each at two services for a fair test.
Setup: paste URLs, pay per credit. OmegaIndexer ~$10/500, IndexCeo similar tiers.
What they do well:
— Convenient bulk submission, simple dashboards
— Reported ~30-45% index rate on genuinely orphaned pages within 2 weeks
Where they fall short:
— No service can force-index thin or duplicate content — that's a quality problem, not a crawl one
— 'Indexed %' dashboards count anything in the index, including soft-404 cousins
— You can't verify their method (often just spun-up links + pings)
Pros: saves manual work, occasionally rescues good orphans.
Cons: opaque, useless on low-quality pages, recurring cost.
Best for: sites with strong content that's simply undiscovered (poor internal linking).
Not for: anyone using them to mask thin pages — you're paying to delay the real fix.
