AI systems are more likely to reuse content when the answer is easy to locate, understand, and separate from surrounding commentary. Format matters because a clean passage can be extracted without reconstructing the author’s argument.
Build pages around three repeatable blocks:
• Direct answer: state the conclusion in the first sentence, then add conditions or caveats.
• List: use parallel items with consistent labels instead of hiding criteria in a dense paragraph.
• Definition: explain the term in one plain sentence before adding examples, limits, or related terms.
Keep each block self-contained. A reader, crawler, or answer system should understand it without needing the previous section. Use descriptive headings, short paragraphs, and explicit wording such as “X means…” or “The main difference is…”. Remove filler introductions that delay the answer.
Before publishing, check whether each important question has one quotable sentence, each list item follows the same structure, and each definition avoids vague claims. Clear formatting supports both human scanning and AI extraction.
Make the answer easy to lift, but useful enough to earn the citation.
