How do I build a topical cluster as a beginner?
Q: Everyone says "build clusters" but I don't get how to actually structure one. Help?
A: Short answer: one broad pillar page plus a ring of specific posts that all link to it and to each other. Longer answer: pick a topic you can genuinely own. Write one overview page on the broad term, then write narrow posts answering the specific questions around it — and interlink them so they form a tight neighborhood Google can read as expertise.
A starter cluster:
— 1 pillar ("beginner sourdough")
— 6-10 specifics ("why my starter won't rise", "sourdough without a Dutch oven")
— each links up to the pillar and sideways to siblings
Finish one full cluster before starting a second. Depth in one spot beats scattering.
Anyone want me to go deeper on this? React 👍
