Two question targets: People Also Ask vs the snippet

Today's lesson: People Also Ask (the expanding question list) and the featured snippet (the top answer box) both reward question-answering — but you'd chase them differently.

Think of winning one big trophy versus collecting many small badges.

1. The featured snippet is one trophy: a single best answer to a high-volume question, parked at the top. Hard to win, big payoff.
2. People Also Ask is many badges: dozens of smaller related questions you can each answer in a sentence and appear in.
3. New or smaller pages should farm the badges first — they're easier than the trophy.

The tradeoff: snippets bring more traffic per win but face fierce competition; PAA spots are easier and add up, but each sends less.

Try this: add three short, direct answers to People Also Ask questions on a page that already ranks on page two. 🎓
