The decision tree for which channel to send on
Popular advice: "DM them on LinkedIn, everyone's there." Myth. Everyone being there is exactly why no one reads it. Pick the channel by friction, not by crowd:
— Do you have a real email? Use it — it survives, DMs scroll away.
— Are they a creator who replies in public? Reply in public first.
— Is the platform their workplace or their hangout? Pitch only on workplace.
— Would a DM there feel like a stranger in their living room? Then don't.
Channel isn't where the crowd is, it's where a reply costs them the least.
