Schema: a plugin or hand-coded?
Today's lesson: schema markup (the hidden code behind rich results) can be added by a plugin or typed by hand. Each suits a different person.
Think of a meal kit versus cooking from scratch.
1. A plugin (like a WordPress SEO plugin) is the meal kit: it fills schema for whole page types automatically. Great for many pages and non-coders.
2. Hand-coding is from scratch: full control for one special page a plugin can't handle — like a complex event or product bundle.
3. Many sites do both: plugin for the bulk, hand-coded for the odd page.
The tradeoff: plugins save time but can output bloated or duplicate schema; hand-coding is precise but breaks if you forget to update it.
Try this: run one plugin-made page through the Rich Results Test and check for duplicate or unneeded schema. 🎓
