Building the mobile first screen, step by step
"Cram the key message above the mobile fold." [MOSTLY MYTH] It spread when desktop rules were copy-pasted to phones. The truth: mobile users expect to scroll; the first screen's only job is to confirm they're in the right place and want to continue. Build it in this order:
— Line 1: who this is for and what it does, in plain words.
— Line 2: the one reason to keep scrolling, not the whole pitch.
— One primary action, thumb-reachable in the lower third.
— Kill the giant hero image that pushes content off-screen; on mobile it's a scroll tax.
The nuance: the mobile fold isn't a stage to perform the whole offer on. It's a doorway. Make it obvious which door, then let them walk through.
