The 60-second contract red-flag scan
Before reading a contract closely, do a fast scan for the clauses that hurt creators most. You're hunting, not studying.
Use Ctrl+F (search) for these words:
— 'perpetuity' or 'irrevocable' (forever usage rights)
— 'exclusive' (check how wide it is)
— 'indemnify' (you cover their legal costs — get this narrowed)
— 'approval' (can they reject endlessly and unpaid?)
— 'revisions' (how many are free?)
Example: 'unlimited revisions' plus 'final approval at brand's sole discretion' means you could redo a video ten times for one fee.
Your move: run those five searches first. Flag every hit, then ask one calm question per flag. You don't need a lawyer to spot these.
