From two reviews a month to nineteen

From two reviews a month to nineteen

Meet a mobile mechanic in Leeds with great work and a terrible review trickle. Two a month, all from customers who were already raving. The quiet-happy majority never wrote a word.

We built an ask system, not a hope system.

The playbook:

— Generate the short Google review link once (the g.page/r/ format), shorten it
— Text it within an hour of the job, while the relief is fresh
— One line: "Glad we got you back on the road — mind dropping a quick review? [link]"
— Train every tech to ask in person first, then the text confirms
— Never incentivize, never batch — one customer, one ask, same day

First week: four reviews. He figured it was a fluke.

By month two he was averaging 19 a month. The volume and freshness pushed him into the map pack for "mobile mechanic Leeds," and the reviews themselves named the services he wanted to rank for.

The lesson: happy customers don't withhold reviews out of spite — they just forget. A same-day link removes the only friction that matters.
