A botched migration kills more deals after signing than bad numbers kill before it.
The handover playbook, in strict order:
— Domain last, never first — transfer it only after content, analytics, and revenue accounts are confirmed live on their side.
— Create fresh accounts for the buyer, don't hand over your logins; shared credentials are a clawback waiting to happen.
— Migrate email list with a documented opt-in trail or watch deliverability tank week one.
— Record a screen-share of every critical workflow.
— Keep a 30-day support window in writing.
The deal closes at handover, not at signature.
Ever had a buyer rage-quit mid-migration? What broke?
