How to send a counter-offer without freezing up
A counter-offer = your polite reply asking for better terms instead of just saying yes or no. Brands expect it, so don't be shy.
Build it in four sentences:
— Thank them and show interest ('Love this brand, excited to work together.')
— State your number plainly ('My rate for this scope is $750.')
— Give one reason rooted in value, not begging ('That covers filming, editing, and a week of exclusivity.')
— Leave the door open ('Happy to adjust the deliverables if budget is tight.')
Example: they offer $400, you counter at $750 with that exact wording.
Your move: draft these four sentences now so a real offer doesn't catch you flat-footed.
