Gifted vs paid: when free product is worth saying yes to
A gifted deal = the brand sends product instead of money. A paid deal = actual cash (sometimes plus product). Both have a place, but the trade is rarely equal.
Why it matters: gifting can be fine very early, to build a portfolio or a relationship. But your audience's attention is the real product you're selling, and free socks don't pay rent. Brands often pitch 'great exposure' to skip paying.
Simple example: a $60 product 'in exchange for a Reel' your paid rate values at $400. That's not a $400 deal, it's a $60 one with extra steps.
Your move: take gifting only when you'd post anyway. Otherwise, price the product in and ask for cash on top.
