How do I set up double opt-in (and why bother)?
Double opt-in means after someone signs up, they get an email asking them to click 'confirm.' Only confirmed people join your list. It feels like an extra step, but it blocks fake addresses and bots that hurt your reputation.
Three steps in any email tool:
—
1. Turn on 'double opt-in' or 'confirmed opt-in' in your form settings.
—
2. Write a short confirmation email: 'Click here to confirm you want in.'
—
3. Make the confirm button big, clear, and the only thing they can click.
✅ Keep that confirmation email to two sentences. Less reading, more clicking.
Homework: Check whether your signup form uses single or double opt-in right now.
