Managed service vs DIY: counting the real cost

Managed service vs DIY: counting the real cost

You can build your own header bidding setup or hand it to a managed service that does it for a revenue share.

— DIY: no revenue share, but you spend hours on setup, testing, and fixing breakages, and mistakes cost money quietly.
— Managed: they take maybe 10 to 15 percent, but they optimize floors, timeouts, and partners full-time, often earning back more than their cut.

Tiny example: if a managed service lifts revenue 25 percent and charges 12 percent, you still come out ahead, and you got your weekends back.

1. Estimate your hourly value.
2. Compare it to the share you'd pay.

In plain English: a managed cut is worth it when their lift beats their fee and frees your time.
