Reposting a TikTok cut vs filming fresh for Reels
Lazy-tested this. Reposting my TikTok edit (watermark removed) reached ~50% of what a Reels-native film did. Even clean of watermark, the algo seems to clock recycled vertical content.
— Filming the same idea fresh, framed for Reels = consistently more reach.
Repurposing isn't dead — but redo the first 3 seconds native at minimum. The opener is what gets profiled.
Take a TikTok hit, re-shoot ONLY the 3-second hook for Reels, splice the rest. Cheap, recovers most of the gap.
