Static vs video on native: video isn't the default flex
Tried video thumbnails against plain static on the same gut-health angle. Static held its own and cost a fraction.
Video creative earns deeper engagement and works the warm/retarget reader who'll actually watch. Production cost and iteration speed are the tax — you can't pump 20 variants overnight.
Static (curiosity image + headline) is the native bread-and-butter: cheap, instant to iterate, and on cold curiosity-click traffic the headline does 80% of the work anyway. The image just has to stop the scroll.
— Cold native, testing angles fast → static, iterate headlines daily
— Warm/retarget, want depth → video
— Mechanism that needs SHOWING (before/after) → video earns its cost
Go test it.
