Handshake vs written deal: when 'we agreed on a call' isn't enough
You can close a deal verbally (on a call or in DMs) or in writing (a short contract or even a clear email recap). Both are real agreements, but only one protects you.
Why it matters: a verbal yes feels great and fast, but when memories differ, you have nothing to point to. A written recap turns 'I thought you said...' into 'here it is, in writing.'
Simple example: you agree '$800, 2 Reels, no exclusivity' on a call. Send a 4-line email: 'Confirming: $800, 2 Reels, no exclusivity, 50% upfront. Good to go?' Their reply 'yes' is now your contract.
Your move: after every verbal yes, send a written recap the same day. Get a yes back before you start.
