You wrote 600 words and the reporter read none

A long, wandering reply feels generous. To a reporter under deadline it feels like homework, and homework gets skipped.

Think of it like answering "what time is it?" with the history of clocks.

1. Aim for 100-150 words total per reply.
2. Give one tight answer, one supporting detail, one credibility line. Stop.
3. If you have three angles, send your single best — don't make them choose.

Short doesn't mean shallow. It means you did the editing so the reporter doesn't have to. That's a gift they reward.

Try this today: Take a past reply and cut it in half without losing the core point. Whatever survives is usually the strong part.
