Mistake: briefing creators in a freeform DM
Failure mode: every brief is a different blob of text. Creators miss the call-to-action, use the wrong link, forget disclosure. You spend revision rounds fixing the same gaps every time.
Fix: one reusable brief template, same sections every deal.
Fixed sections, in order:
— The one job (single conversion goal, stated in one sentence)
— Hook options (3 you've tested, they pick one)
— Mandatory: exact link, exact disclosure text, exact promo code
— Hard no's (claims you cannot legally make)
— Deliverables + due dates
— Approval: who signs off, by when
Decision rule: if the creator asks a question already answered in the template, the template gets a new line. It improves every cycle.
Checklist before sending any brief:
— Link tested and live
— Disclosure text copy-pasteable, not described
— Promo code activated in the system
— Due dates match the content calendar
Definition of done: a creator can execute the post correctly without asking you a single clarifying question.
Freeform briefs cost you a revision round every time.
