If your site genuinely never changes, a hand-built static page beats any builder subscription.
For a personal site, a docs page, or a one-off event microsite, paying 15 to 30 dollars a month forever to host five paragraphs is absurd. A single HTML file plus Tailwind on free Cloudflare Pages or Netlify is faster, costs nothing, and never gets a pricing-change email. The tradeoff is obvious and fair: zero visual editing, you touch code to update, non-technical clients can't self-serve. But for a developer's own static site, the builder subscription is a recurring tax on a problem you already solved. Own the file, skip the rent.
Agree? Or am I wrong?
